(painted by Roberto Ferruzzi, 1897)
And how do we view those realities, and profess our own dreams to one another??
I had a dream last night that I met my Grandpa ...whom I have never met. I could see the resemblance between he & my Dad.
Grandpa did not appear nearly as old as he would be today, yet he was some years older than anyone had ever seen him ...as he'd passed away in his 50s, before my parents were married. Actually, at this moment he appeared to be about my Dad's age.
I spoke first, "I really love my Dad, you have a great son ...and Dad is a great person. I kinda feel I know you ...Dad has always told me great things about you."
He told me, "Though things were certainly different in my day ...if I were here today, I'd want to be like your Dad is."
I told Grandpa, "You are here at this moment, for however long it will last ...and you do appear much like my Dad."
He smiled. I asked, "Can I give you a hug?"
Grandpa said, "Sure ...I was hoping you'd ask."
As I hugged him, I lifted a hand to wipe a tear away. Clearing my vision, I could see over Grandpa's shoulder ...a dog, the same dog as in a picture I'd seen. Lindy was sitting ...and smiling.
(I know Grandma would have been in that moment too. I knew her ...and I know she would have wanted this moment to be just Grandpa's & mine.)
Jesus also told us great things about our Heavenly Father. And I also want to be sure to share that also.

(http://thistimetothankmom.blogspot.com/) ...Thanks Mom ..., and thanks for pointing me in the right direction (so, I could later learn I would rather be the vomit on shore, than rowing in the wrong direction ...and thanks Jonah too.)
(http://thanksdadandmom.blogspot.com/) ...Thanks Dad ..., for so much. I also thank you and Mom for showing me the love ...not that the conversation about God came up much, but having your love seemed to make it that much easier understanding the love of my Heavenly Father. Though the Holy Spirit revealing much to me made it possible to better understand both loves.

Now, I also occupy a position myself. I thank my wife's Dad, and also her Mom (whom I was never privileged to meet, as cancer got her in this life & our Lord brought her unto Himself). I am thankful for the love that lives on ...and the moments shared with my wife.
Daily the term 'Mom' & 'Dad' rings a true blessing in our ears ...as we spend these priceless moments with our children.
